How do we use creativity?

Many people think of creativity as inner emotion, ideas, and feeling and expressing them in something physical. But how do we express ourselves? Many use their creativity in art or music. I believe that most people think of art or music when they think of creativity, however couldn't we say that creativity can also be expressed in other ways such as science, business, or literature? So why is creativity thought of so often as simply art? Why refer to someone's creativity in reference to a scientific theory or  an interpretation of literature or even a certain view on history?

  1. I agree that creativity can be expreseed in science, business, and literature. I think that these areas require creativity the most, because the novel product may affect the world in a positive way and save lives. I am focusing on the social/business creativity of Mohammed Yunis and his Grameen Bank in Bangladesh to argue that creativity that improves the world we live is the most profound display of "big-C" creativity and should be talked about more in our book. Also, someday creative work in the lab may help find a cure for cancer. This is why I believe that the greatest expression of creativity is in the fields that you mention.

  2. From taking the creativity class, I have been more open to accept things that I did not think was creative, as creative. Because most of the creativity that we have learned was the kind that prospered in the capitalistic society. I now can see things in the science and business field as creative as paintings and music.
